Taormina beaches

The cable car starting from Porta Messina carries you down to Mazzarò beach that is a typical Italian pebble beach, ranked with umbrellas and chairs for rent. You can rent a paddle boat to explore this and neighboring coves, including Isola Bella.

Not far from Mazzarò beach, past the headland Capo Sant’Andrea, there is Isola Bella, a magic place that cannot be missed if you come in Taormina. There is a narrow path that often connects the island to the mainland beach. The island is home to several species of birds, and a few types of lizards.

Giardini Naxos is made up of fine and golden sand and is a frequented beach, with private properties that for a fee offer deckchairs, umbrellas and entertainment, as well as bars, restaurants and pizzerias. This beach also has stretches of free access public areas where one can swim and sunbath. This is the beach that had welcomed the first Greek colonies that arrived in Sicily.

Letojanni has a vast beach of sand with Taormina’s promontory in the background. Para-glider aficionados love the wind that caresses this magnificent beach. Here you will find private establishments but also stretches of free beach.
